Nature Of Duties:
ENTITY: American Centrifuge Program DEPARTMENT: Technical Services LOCATION: Piketon, OH POSITION: Process Engineer, Senior
Incumbent has demonstrated competence in providing process and technical support to centrifuge and cascade operation, has a basic working knowledge of cascade support systems and possesses ability to function on multidisciplinary teams.
Job Responsibilities: Provides day to day technical support to Operations on centrifuge and cascade issues
Plans and oversees centrifuge and cascade testing to support goals necessary to deploy commercial plant
Prepares documentation on centrifuge and cascade settings and operating limits
Provides technical input and review of Operations procedures
Performs in-depth analysis of centrifuge and cascade operation and performance
Prepares documents and presentations to communicate the results of the analysis
Works with manufacturing, assembly and development groups to provide feedback on centrifuge performance and to resolve centrifuge issues in order to ensure successful deployment of commercial plant
Provides technical support commercial plant deployment with regard to centrifuge and cascade requirements necessary to produce enriched product and have it shipped on time
Required Qualifications:
Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” level security clearance.
Minimum Education • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or mathematics discipline or equivalent related experience.
Minimum Experience • Seven (7) years’ experience in engineering or science discipline. Preferred Education and Experience: • Background in data analysis techniques • Good working knowledge of centrifuge and cascade operation and theory • Experience in providing technical support to operating groups • Experience communicating across disciplines and experience with working with multidisciplinary teams
