Nature Of Duties:
ENTITY: American Centrifuge Program DEPARTMENT: Technical Services LOCATION: Piketon, OH POSITION: Instrument & Controls Engineer
Provide engineering support for instrument and control systems, including operating parameters, periodic maintenance, and design changes. Perform software modifications and operating system upgrades on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Distributive Control System (DCS) components.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day engineering support to Maintenance and Operations on specific instrument and control systems
Performs moderate design tasks, prepares portions of project documents, performs research and investigations
Establish operating parameters, criteria, ranges, and limits for individual components, equipment and overall system performance
Develop start-up / commissioning test plans, integrated system test plans, and post maintenance test plans
Responsible for monitoring, reviewing, tracking and trending system performance and reliability and provide periodic system health reports
Responsible for performing software changes and operating system upgrades on PLC’s and associated distributive control system components (servers, work stations, HMI’s, etc.), establishing software configuration / attributes, performing routine system software and data backups, and providing database management support
Provide direct assistance / support to restore software and restart failed PLCs or distribution control system
Performs engineering calculations, setpoint determinations, engineering evaluations, equivalency substitutions, minor design modifications, engineering specification data sheets, special studies, technical reviews, system and walkdowns

Required Qualifications:
Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” level security clearance.
Minimum Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Instrument & Controls or Electrical Engineering or equivalent related experience.
Minimum Experience
• Two to five (2-5) years’ experience in Instrument & Control Engineering.
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Experience with Honeywell Experion System – (Plant Knowledge System), and Allen Bradley PLCs.
