Nature Of Duties:
ENTITY: American Centrifuge Program
DEPARTMENT: Centrifuge Security
LOCATION: Piketon,OH
POSITION: Security Support Specialist
The Security Support Specialist follows established procedures and processes clearances for the ACP Program. This includes USEC personnel, strategic partners, and subcontractors. The incumbent also performs badge and visitor control functions.
Job Responsibilities:
Process clearance documents for the American Centrifuge Program, USEC Piketon, USEC Oak Ridge, Strategic Partners, and subcontractors
May process and register Foreign Ownership and Control and Influence (FOCI) contracts submitted to the Department of Energy and Nuclear Regulatory Commission for the American Centrifuge Program including USEC, strategic partners and subcontractors
Perform Badge and Visitor Control functions: access DOE database to verify clearance status, verify site-specific training, and issue DOE badges to personnel accessing the site
Verify clearance status and training restrictions for visitors
Maintain records and documents regarding clearance status and visits. Maintain visitor control list for portal use
Compile ACP clearance reports for USEC Senior Management and submits other reports as requested
May process security plans for uncleared individuals
May conduct training and briefings for visitors and may process fingerprints for ACP employees and contractors for initial clearances
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications:
• Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” level security clearance.
Minimum Education
• High School diploma or GED
Minimum Experience
• One (1) year experience in an office environment managing highly sensitive information and basic computer operating skills including working knowledge of data base operations

Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made. In addition, once employed, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require a pre-employment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a DOE security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.”
