Nature Of Duties:
ENTITY:American Centrifuge Program DEPARTMENT:Centrifuge Security LOCATION:Piketon, OH POSITION:Console Operator
The Central Alarm Station (CAS) Operator performs assigned tasks from detailed instructions and established policies and procedures. Provides security protection by monitoring the Security Access Control and Alarm System, electronic surveillance systems, and plant radio communications maintaining and safeguarding the physical perimeter, exterior and interior perimeters of the facility by monitoring the facility.
Job Responsibilities: Monitor Security Access Control and Alarm System for alarm irregularities and access controls
Based on Security Access Control and Alarm System indications or events, identify, initiate and coordinate appropriate response/ notification based on security guidelines
Coordinate access ingress/egress of employees into security areas
Control access to the site on the off-shift, including the issuance of temporary badges
Prepare necessary Access Control System transaction reports
Monitor electronic surveillance systems and report irregular activity
Issue Tamper Indicating Devices to authorized users; maintain data base for seal activity
Assist in performance of alarm function checks and sensitivity checks
Enter Work Requests and track to completion
Update Access Control System data for various training requirements (e.g., General Employee Training, See and Flee requirements, Security Education and Awareness training)
Generate and maintain accurate paperwork for alarm device sheets, Tamper Indicating Device worksheets, Key Issue Logs, Radio Issue Logs, and CAS Operator logbook
Required Qualifications:
• Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” level security clearance.
Minimum Education • High School diploma or GED
Minimum Experience • One (1) year experience in an office environment managing highly sensitive information • Basic computer operating skills including working knowledge of data base operations
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Knowledge of security systems, building automation systems, and managing highly sensitive information • Customer service experience
