Nature Of Duties:
ENTITY: American Centrifuge Program DEPARTMENT: ES&H LOCATION: Piketon, OH POSITION: ES&H Manager
The Code Inspector implements the Code Inspection program, procedures and other performance documents. The Code Inspector interprets codes and standards. In addition, the Code Inspector performs inspection/testing of various equipment (such as cranes; elevators; slings, lifting fixtures and rigging hardware; fall protection equipment; under-ground and above-ground storage tanks (UST/AST); lifts; powered industrial trucks; boilers and pressure vessels; pressure relief devices, etc.).
Job Responsibilities:
Adhere to company policies, procedures, code of conduct, security and environmental and safety program requirements
Responsible for managing the Code Inspection program through research, implementation and management of applicable code requirements, ACP License requirements and ACP procedural requirements
Perform code inspections including, but not limited to: overhead, gantry, monorail, and mobile cranes; hydraulic and traction elevators; slings, lifting fixtures and rigging hardware; fall protection equipment; UST/AST; aerial lifts; powered industrial trucks; boilers and pressure vessels; pressure relief devices; and UF6 cylinders per requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926, ANSI/ASME, STI, ASTM, API, ASHRAE, and USEC Inc. procedures
Work independently interpreting standards and codes for compliance
Assess and identify code violations, determine impact on organizations, identify resolution and advise management on issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions
Ensure inspection activities are performed in a safe, high quality manner while adhering to inspection schedules
Prepare written reports on tests and certifications and is responsible for data entry of information such as Inspection Reports, Condition Notifications, and Inspection Completion into applicable data tracking system
Set-up/calibrate equipment and instruments for tests and inspections
Perform calculations, analyze data, evaluate and interpret results of tests and inspections
Represent the Company at vendor sites to conduct or witness tests and inspections for final acceptance of vendor supplied equipment
Support and assist Plant Organizations and Contractors, as needed, in the following: • Job planning including coordinating crafts and evaluating work activities • Reviews engineering drawings for code compliance

Required Qualifications:
• Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” level security clearance • Proficient with Microsoft Office • Possess strong technical writing skills • Ability to make decisions independently and perform assignments with minimal supervision • Ability to work in a “reactive” environment; flexibility; teamwork • Position requires obtaining additional certifications while on the job • Must be able to travel for training and development, as requested by management. Minimum Education • High School diploma or GED Minimum Experience • NA
Preferred Education and Experience: • Technical College Degree preferred – (math, engineering or physical sciences) • At least one of the following inspection license/certifications: Overhead and mobile crane, hoisting and rigging hardware, elevator, pressure relief device inspections and boiler and pressure vessel inspector • Three (3) years of experience independently interpreting standards and codes • Mechanical background with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience
