Salary: $38,188.80 - $49,649.60 Annually $18.36 - $23.87 Hourly

Under general direction of Purchasing Supervisor, coordinates & oversees procurement of supplies, materials, equipment &/or services required for O.D.P.S. (i.e., coordinates special acquisitions projects to procure supplies, materials, equipment &/or services for all divisions of Public Safety; performs research, obtains quotes & prepares cost analysis related to procurement projects; gathers information and prepares release & permit requests; prepares specifications & contracts for goods and services). Screens electronic requisitions orders to ascertain if items are to be purchased under state contract or competitive bid. Confers with vendors, manufacturers & distributors on daily basis regarding delivery, prices &/or quantity (i.e., reviews & evaluates bids received & recommends awards; ensures compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; processes routine purchasing requests; prepares correspondence using Microsoft Word; provides follow-up on outstanding purchases). Assures accuracy & correctness of purchase orders, requisitions & encumbrances (i.e., enters procurement information into Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS), and Asset Inventory Management System (AIMS), Electronic Release & Permit System; reviews & maintains procurement logs (ACCESS), (EXCEL), prepares purchase orders; prepares statistical reports; makes recommendations to supervisor). Maintains files (e.g., procurement files), responds to telephone inquiries, maintains & generates reports from ODPS databases; performs other related duties (e.g. assists with cross training of fellow purchasing personnel; makes routine deliveries of purchases and supplies, answer telephones, make copies, etc.).

Required Qualifications: 3 yrs. trg. or 3 yrs. exp. in purchasing/procurement (i.e., evaluating bid responses, review of contractual language, awarding of contracts); 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in public relations. -Or 12 mos. exp. as Purchasing Agent, 64522. -Or completion of associate degree program or undergraduate core program in business administration or public administration. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Attended educational courses sponsored by the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) and/or has received certification as a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB).
