Nature Of Duties:
Ohio Agricultural Research & Development Center (OARDC), Ohio State University, Jackson Ag Research Station, Jackson Ohio is accepting applications for Ag. Tech. 1. Selected candidate will provide research support for beef cattle, small ruminant, and forages research program. Duties include farm and livestock tasks in relation to experimental protocols; application treatments to crops and livestock; collect data and samples for lab analysis; dada and records management; assist with veterinary care; research work on experiments; operate and maintain farm machinery; harvest of forges for pasture and hay; grounds and facilities maintenance; public outreach events and tours; work schedule adjusted for weekend feeding with other employees or as required by field and weather conditions.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum two years livestock and/or crop production in a research environment; ability to lift 100 lbs. and lift and carry 80 lbs; valid license; farm machinery operation, adjustment and repair; basic computer skills including email, internet, data entry into spreadsheets.
