Manages the day to day operation of the institution recovery services program. Develops and implements the policies and procedures for the recovery services program. Assists with the program budget planning and coordinates quality assurance activities. Participates in personnel management tasks including recruitment, interviewing, training and recommendations for hire. Supervises employees assigned to the recovery services program. Directs and manages treatment activities of the recovery services staff. Provides in-service training and evaluations, maintains necessary data documents required by DRC. Provides alcohol and other drug treatment services to inmates in the program. Serves as institution representative on statewide committee for alcohol and other drug related issues.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of graduate core program in social work as required by college or university; 6 mos. exp. as Social Worker 3, 69313, Correctional Program Coordinator, 69323, or Correction Specialist, 63181, or 12 mos. exp. as Social Worker 2, 69312 or Correctional Program Specialist, 69321. -Or completion of undergraduate major field of study in social work as required by college or university; 6 mos. exp. as Social Worker 3, 69313, Correctional Program Coordinator, 69323, or Correction Specialist, 63181, or 12 mos. exp. as Social Worker 2, 69312 or Correctional Program Specialist, 69321. - Or in Department of Youth Services only, completion of graduate core program in social work as required by college or university; 6 mos. clinical social work exp.; 1 course in employee training & development or 3 mos. exp. providing work direction & training or supervision. -Or in Department of Youth Services only, completion of undergraduate major field of study in social work as required by college or university; 12 mos. clinical social work exp., 1 course in employee training & development or 3 mos. exp. providing work direction & training or supervision. -Or equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
Position Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Must hold current certification or credentials in on of the following:
- Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC).
- Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by State of Ohio Counselor and
Social Worker Board.
- Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC) by State of Ohio Counselor and
Social Worker Board.
- Licensed Physician by State of Ohio Medical Board.
- Licensed Psychologist by State of Ohio Board of Psychology.
- Registered Nurse by Ohio Board of Nursing.
Knowledge of departmental regulations*; governmental regulations, policies & procedures; supervisory principles/ techniques*; public administration*; management; safety practices; crisis interventions; budgeting*; employee training & development; types & effects of psychotropic medications; interviewing. Ability to interpret variety of instructions in written or oral form; define problems, collect data, establish facts & draw conclusions; deal with many variables & determine specific action; understand practical field of social work; interpret extensive variety of technical material in books, journals & manuals; write meaningful, concise & accurate reports; interpret threatening situations.
